Italy, Tuscany, Monti di Villa

Monti di Villa is a sleepy village above Bangi di Lucca in Tuscany, Italy.  It is approximately 600 meters above sea level.  If you are in the area, the drive between Lucca passing thru Bandi di Lucca is very charming.  Stop and take in the sites at Devil’s Bridge.  Dante lived in the area and wrote about Devil’s Bridge in the Divine Comedy.  Monti di Villa sits in the Tuscan hillside above Pieve di Monti di Villa.  There are no streets passing through the village.  Park your car and take a stroll back in time though the cobbled pathways.  At the time of our visit, no one spoke English and there were no restaurants.  In the week we stayed in this village, we experienced the true charm of Italian living with the wonderful villagers of Monti di Villa.
