California, Wildflowers, Valley

Tejon Ranch sits along Interstate 5 in California.  It is a 270,000 acre ranch.  The largest single piece of privately owned property in the state consisting of 422 square miles. It meets Kern County just above Arvin, California.

I grew up in this area and was afforded the opportunity to hike and explore in its beauty.  In early March of 2003, I was on a visit with family in the area and a rancher, who is a family friend, said I had to come and photograph the wildflowers.  He took us to a private location and this is what we discovered. We found valleys, meadows and hills filled with California Poppies, Lupines, Baby’s Breath, Indian Paintbrush and more.  A once in a lifetime experience to photograph these beautiful Wildflowers.
